I guess my take on this one is what I really dont want to be doing, but am good at, is the design technical and layout skill. Then there’s the whole agile working world adaptation skill – something I’m still learning about (and getting training on), but really like doing.
I’d love to combine the two worlds and see what happens. Money-wise though – I have no idea how that will come together. For now, I’m just having fun.

This is such a valuable exercise – and thank you for the sage advice about doing something you perhaps don’t want to do at first. It’s a means to a great end! I don’t really want to do bid writing (proposals for grant funding etc.) as it is what I do for the day job and I’ve had enough of it. But, just like you with the press releases, I can do them with relative ease – and get paid a decent wage for them. In the meantime I can do article writing and copy editing for a lower fee (what I really want to do). Thanks for the focus!

I liked the idea of making services more profitable. In design I often have to do multiple projects for the same client at one time in order to complete one project (for example, most websites I design require a logo) so I end up doing two separate invoices but I could just make it a kit and include a logo with the website and charge a slightly higher price.

I learned a lot from this one. I kind of did that with my portfolio site. I set up different pages for each type of work I do. I think I may have to tidy up though and get rid of some of it for now.
